Agent-to-Agent Trusted Network Layer
A coordination infrastructure or protocol that allows different personal AI agents to communicate, negotiate, and complete tasks on behalf of their users — the 'network effects' layer for the agentic era.
01 THE IDEA
The video highlights Instinct's 'trusted person network' feature: users can whitelist other users' Instinct agents, enabling agent-to-agent communication. This means two people's AI agents can coordinate on tasks without either human being involved — scheduling a meeting, splitting a bill, or planning a shared trip. The hosts explicitly frame this as 'network effects for the agentic era,' a powerful moat-building mechanism.
The business idea here is to build this coordination layer as a standalone infrastructure product or open protocol, rather than lock it inside a single app. Think of it like email (open protocol) vs. iMessage (closed network) — an open trusted-agent communication standard could become the backbone for all personal agent apps. Monetization could come from API usage fees, identity verification, fraud prevention services, or premium routing for time-sensitive tasks. The key insight is that whoever owns the inter-agent communication standard in the consumer space will have an enormous and defensible moat.

03 THE VERDICT
The long-term strategic value of owning the inter-agent trust layer is enormous, but the path to monetization is long and the risk of being steamrolled by Google, Anthropic, or Apple is high. The best bet for a small team is to build an open-source reference implementation that gains developer adoption quickly, then monetize around managed hosting, identity verification, or compliance tooling. Timing is genuinely good — the window to establish an independent standard is narrow and closing fast.
