MoonPig generates ~$400M/year selling personalized greeting cards through a clunky, template-based UX. This idea replaces that model with a fully AI-generated experience: users upload a photo of the recipient, describe the occasion, and the platform automatically generates a Pixar-style illustrated card (and optionally an animated GIF or short video clip) using the sequential prompting workflow — ChatGPT → Leonardo AI → Kling AI → ElevenLabs. Cards can be delivered digitally or printed and shipped via Printful/similar APIs.
The revenue model mirrors MoonPig: per-card purchases ($7–10), monthly memberships ($10–15/month for unlimited cards), and upsells like gift bundles (chocolates, flowers via third-party APIs). The AI personalization justifies a 20–30% price premium over traditional cards. The marketing angle is powerful: shareable, emotionally resonant animated cards are inherently viral, especially when people can put their friends' faces in a Simpsons-style or Pixar-style scene.
