01 THE IDEA

As AR glasses (Meta Orion, Ray-Ban Meta, Snap) move toward mainstream adoption, there will be a need for an ad marketplace that connects brands with AR eyewear audiences. Just as Yahoo and early internet companies created banner ad networks to monetize web real estate, this business would negotiate 'visual real estate' deals in the AR field of view — serving contextually relevant, AI-generated one-of-one ads based on what the wearer is looking at in real time.

The opportunity is to build the infrastructure layer early — before platforms like Meta lock it all in-house — by creating SDKs, demand-side platforms, and supply-side integrations that allow brands to buy AR ad inventory. 03 THE VERDICT

The timing is genuinely early — which is both the opportunity and the risk. Hardware adoption at scale is still 5-10 years away, meaning this is a venture to build now and monetize later. The biggest threat is platform capture by Meta/Apple. A small team can survive as an independent layer only if they build cross-platform and establish brand relationships before the giants close the gates. Worth experimenting with but not betting the farm on yet.
