The insight is that traditional loyalty programs (points systems, plastic cards, apps) are fragmented, non-portable, and generate no secondary market value for the consumer. NFTs solve all three problems: they're portable across wallets, tradeable, and programmable with tiered perks.
The business is a white-label SaaS platform for mid-to-large consumer brands (airlines, gyms, restaurants, retailers) to issue NFT-based loyalty tokens without requiring customers to understand crypto. The platform abstracts wallet creation, handles fiat on-ramps, and provides a branded customer-facing app. Revenue model: setup fees plus transaction fees on token issuance and transfers. The timing is early but the infrastructure (account abstraction, gasless transactions) is maturing rapidly.

The opportunity is real and the market is large, but the timing is still slightly early and the sales cycle to enterprise brands is long and expensive. The NFT brand stigma from 2021–2022 is fading but not gone, making mid-market brands hesitant. Best positioned for a technical founder with existing relationships in retail, hospitality, or entertainment who can land 3–5 design partners quickly. Don't build this without warm enterprise leads already in hand.
