Peak is a React Native mobile app that connects to users' bank accounts and replaces static dashboard-style personal finance tools with a conversational AI interface powered by Claude and Gemini. Instead of presenting walls of numbers, it delivers single-question check-ins, Instagram-story-style daily financial narratives, and context-aware notifications that nudge users at relevant moments (e.g., weekend spend review). The app stores thousands of user-specific signals in a vector database to personalize advice over time, making it feel like a smarter financial friend rather than a generic tool.
The core insight is that most people are cognitively overloaded by existing finance apps — they see data but don't know what to do with it. By applying behavioral science principles (progressive disclosure, single-purpose UI, narrative storytelling, timely nudges), Peak reduces the emotional friction of engaging with personal finances. The design borrows calm UX patterns from wellness and meditation apps, making money feel less scary. This framework is directly applicable to any self-improvement vertical.
