Practice is a SaaS platform purpose-built for independent coaches and solopreneurs, giving them the tools to manage clients, run their business operations, and scale without needing a large team or expensive enterprise software. Julian Smith, the founder, describes it as empowering individuals who would otherwise lack the leverage and infrastructure that larger organizations take for granted.
The product emerged directly from Julian's experience building Breather (a venture-backed company that raised ~$150M) and his long-standing belief in individual empowerment as a through-line throughout his career. The platform targets a fast-growing segment: the solo operator economy, where independent coaches, consultants, and freelancers want professional-grade tools without the complexity or cost of enterprise solutions. The company had already raised a financing round with Greg Isenberg and the co-host as investors at the time of the episode.
