Unbundled Senior Living Platform
A modular marketplace that unbundles senior living facilities — letting older adults mix-and-match housing, social programming, nutrition, and health services à la carte instead of paying for expensive all-in-one facilities.
▶ WATCH THE SOURCE SEGMENT — Why You Should Start a Business For Older Adults01 THE IDEA
Traditional senior living facilities vertically integrate housing, social calendars, nutrition, and health services into one expensive, lowest-common-denominator package. Most residents tolerate the housing but hate the programming (bingo, zumba) and have no alternatives. This platform would unbundle those components, letting older adults live wherever they choose while subscribing independently to curated social programming, dining services, wellness support, and peer connection — all accessible via a digital hub.
The model is analogous to what streaming did to cable or what Craigslist unbundling created across dozens of verticals. Revenue could come from SaaS subscriptions, marketplace transaction fees from service providers, and B2B white-label sales to nursing home chains who want to outsource their experience/culture layer. Starting with one unbundled component (e.g., social programming-as-a-service sold to nursing home chains) de-risks the build.

03 THE VERDICT
The unbundling frame is powerful and the market is enormous, stagnant, and ripe. Starting with one wedge — selling experience-as-a-service to regional nursing home chains — is a concrete B2B go-to-market that doesn't require building a full platform on day one. The demographic tailwind is as strong as any market available today.
