Visa Sponsorship Marketplace for Non-Traditional Workers
A platform that matches highly skilled international workers on non-traditional career paths (creators, founders, freelancers) with companies willing to sponsor their US visa in exchange for a revenue share or equity stake in their future upside.
01 THE IDEA
When international workers in the US leave traditional employment to pursue entrepreneurship or content creation, they immediately lose their H-1B visa sponsorship — forcing them to either find a new sponsor quickly, win the lottery again, or leave the country. This creates a massive chilling effect on immigrant entrepreneurship. The idea is a marketplace that connects these workers with companies willing to nominally or substantively employ them (providing visa sponsorship) in exchange for a negotiated percentage of the equity or revenue they generate in their non-traditional venture.
The platform would work like an ISA (Income Share Agreement) meets visa law — companies get an investable stake in promising creators/founders at early stage, workers get the legal right to stay in the US and pursue their vision, and the platform takes a matching fee or ongoing small percentage. The legal complexity is real and would require immigration attorneys to structure compliant arrangements, but the demand signal is clear: every year thousands of Harvard, MIT, and top-school immigrant graduates are locked out of entrepreneurship by visa constraints.

03 THE VERDICT
The pain point is extremely real and the demand is unambiguously there — immigrant entrepreneurship is severely handicapped by the current H-1B system and no clean solution exists. However, the regulatory complexity is enormous and getting the legal structure wrong could be catastrophic for users. This is a high-reward idea that requires a legally sophisticated founding team and significant upfront capital to structure properly. Not a weekend project, but potentially a very important company.
