01 THE IDEA

The idea is to build a writing tool modeled after VS Code's interface — with a left panel for notes/references, a center markdown editor, and a right panel for custom AI presets (tweet threads, TikTok scripts, podcast intros, newsletter drafts, Instagram carousels). Rather than targeting book authors, the focus is squarely on internet content creators who produce across multiple formats daily.

The deeper value proposition goes beyond formatting: the tool would store high-performing scripts as examples, allow audience information input to tailor tone, and eventually connect the writing process to video output — mapping research → outline → script → video so creators can reverse-engineer successful content. A gamification layer (streaks, scoring) is also floated as a retention mechanism. This is positioned as a multi-billion dollar opportunity in the creator productivity space.

03 THE VERDICT

This is a genuinely differentiated idea in a large, fast-growing market. The IDE metaphor applied to creator workflows is novel and resonates with how power-users think. The AI preset system creates a defensible UX advantage over generic tools, and the video-to-writing pipeline angle is an untapped wedge. The main risk is scope creep — a disciplined v1 focused on one creator type (e.g. YouTube/newsletter) could reach $500K ARR before needing to expand.
