AI-Powered Event Directory (Aggregated & Curated)
A niche event discovery directory that aggregates from multiple sources (Eventbrite, Facebook, Meetup) and uses AI curation to surface better, more relevant events than any single platform.

The existing event discovery experience is fragmented and poor — users must separately check Eventbrite, Facebook Events, Meetup, and local sites, with no unified, curated view. The idea is to build a directory that scrapes multiple event sources, uses AI to clean and categorize listings, and presents a dramatically better discovery experience for a specific event niche (e.g., singles events, professional networking, wellness retreats, family activities by city).
Monetization options include featured listings (event organizers pay to boost), affiliate/ticket commissions, or lead generation to event organizers. The niche focus is key — rather than competing with Eventbrite broadly, you own 'singles events in [city]' or 'wellness retreats near me.' Claude Code can handle the scraping pipeline and site build, while the curation layer (AI filtering by niche relevance, quality scoring) becomes the defensible differentiator.

03 THE VERDICT
The opportunity is real — event discovery genuinely sucks and the niche-vertical angle is smart — but the technical complexity of multi-source scraping with frequent data freshness requirements is higher than a static business directory. Monetization is also less proven than lead-gen for service businesses. Worth pursuing if you have a specific niche community you're embedded in, but not the best first directory project.
