Claude Code Skills Marketplace
A marketplace where developers buy and sell reusable Claude Code skill files (slash commands) for specific business verticals and workflows.
01 THE IDEA
Claude Code supports 'skills' — reusable prompt files that encode repeatable workflows like landing page teardowns, customer note analysis, demo script generation, and more. Currently there is no central marketplace for these skills, meaning every user has to create their own from scratch. A skills marketplace would let expert Claude Code users publish and sell skills, while buyers get immediate leverage without the setup time.
The marketplace could be structured like a Gumroad or npm registry for Claude skills — with free and paid tiers, ratings, vertical-specific categories (e-commerce, SaaS, med spa, legal, etc.), and potentially a subscription model for access to a curated library. Revenue comes from transaction fees or subscription access. The content flywheel is strong: as Claude Code adoption grows, both supply of skill creators and demand from buyers scales naturally.

03 THE VERDICT
The timing is very early — Claude Code skills are new enough that the ecosystem hasn't formed yet, which is both an opportunity and a risk. Cursor Directory is the obvious comparable and has shown this model can work. The main uncertainty is whether Anthropic builds an official marketplace first, which would kill an independent one. If you can move fast and establish creator relationships before Anthropic acts, this has real potential; otherwise it's a risky platform bet.
