Currently this happens informally via GitHub repos and social media links with no central discovery layer, no quality curation, no monetization rails, and no install-with-one-click flow.
The opportunity is to build a Shopify App Store or Figma Community equivalent for AI agent skills — a marketplace where domain experts (marketers, finance pros, operators) publish skill packs, users can browse by category and AI harness compatibility, and creators earn revenue share. Network effects kick in as the catalog grows, and the platform can charge transaction fees or subscriptions. This pairs naturally with the team skills management platform described above as an integrated discovery-to-deployment funnel.

The timing is early enough to capture a real niche before platforms internalize this, and the shift from disposable prompts to durable agent skills creates better marketplace economics than prior attempts like PromptBase. However, the cold-start two-sided problem is hard, and the window before Anthropic/OpenAI build native skill stores is uncertain. Best pursued as a feature of the Team Skills Platform rather than a standalone bet, unless the founder has strong creator-community distribution already.
